| Op de Filipijnen zijn een Nederlandse man (75) en zijn Filipijnse echtgenote (63) dood in hun woning aangetroffen. Het lokale radiostation Yes The Best uit de stad Dumaguete heeft dat afgelopen dinsdag al gemeld. Het Nederlandse ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken bevestigt dat er een echtpaar is omgekomen en dat de lokale autoriteiten onderzoek doen naar wat er is gebeurd, maar wil niet ingaan op de identiteit van de slachtoffers. |

| Volgens het radiostation werden de slachtoffers in een plas bloed aangetroffen. Omwonenden sloegen bij de politie alarm toen ze een indringende lucht roken bij het huis van de slachtoffers, wanneer de twee zijn omgekomen is niet bekend, maar men heeft het vermoeden dat de slachtoffers op vrijdag 24 december 2021 reeds zijn overvallen en daarbij zijn vermoord. Een Nederlands familielid bevestigt het bericht van het Filipijnse radiostation aan de NOS. Mogelijk is er sprake geweest van een overval op het echtpaar. |
